Find Your Happy: Learning to find time for you

Approach

We often find that many people after giving so much of themselves to others can lose their ability to have some fun and be happy. Those people can also feel guilty when they do take some time for themeselves and spend a lot of that time thinking about others things they should be doing. “It’s a very common thing. We have designed “Find your Happy” to address this. In one 90 min session we work through this and showed you how to address this. We will guide you throught the following:

Recognising the Need for Personal Time

We begin by helping you acknowledge the importance of dedicating time to yourself, beyond your roles as a worker, parent, or caregiver. This step is crucial in setting the foundation for a more balanced and joyful life.

Overcoming Guilt Associated with Pleasure

Many feel unwarranted guilt when taking time for themselves, especially true for carers and givers. This segment addresses these feelings head-on, offering strategies to reframe self-care as an act of self-respect and a crucial component of being a reliable support for others. We work through your thoughts and rationalise them.

Rediscovering What Brings You Joy

For those who can't remember what they enjoy doing for fun, this part of the program is dedicated to exploring and identifying activities that ignite personal joy. Through guided discovery and experimentation, participants will learn how to reconnect with their passions and interests.

Setting Boundaries for Self-Care

Essential to finding and maintaining happiness is learning to set healthy boundaries with work, family, and caregiving responsibilities. This component teaches us what boundaries are, the skills needed to communicate them and enforce these boundaries without guilt or apology.

Implementing Small Changes for Big Impacts

We focus on practical, manageable changes you can make in your daily routine to incorporate more joy and less stress, demonstrating how small adjustments can lead to significant improvements in your overall happiness.

The Ripple Effect of Your Happiness

Highlighting the positive impacts of personal happiness on one's environment, this final part reinforces the idea that by caring for oneself, participants are in a better position to care for and uplift those around them. A happier, more fulfilled individual contributes to a happier, healthier community. We will work with you on how to maintain this for the future.
